The Queen of Hearts

I had the pleasure of speaking with Jackie Siegel, star of the Discovery+ series “The Queen of Versailles Reigns Again,” about the devastating loss of her daughter Victoria to opioid addiction, and the ravaging impact it is having all throughout the country. Many people were first familiarized with Jackie in the hit documentary “The Queen of Versailles,” which featured her building a 90,000 square foot mansion in Florida, which has taken 20 years to complete.

Jackie is a prime example of how one can use their influence for the power of good. Her work as an author and activist is saving lives on a daily basis. “ We got Narcon available across the country, and just in Florida alone they have used it over 1,000 times to save lives… It helps my heart to know Victoria didn’t die without a purpose,” Jackie recently shared.

So many of us wonder, “Can I make a difference?” and the answer is yes! Making a difference comes in many forms, and often turning our own pain and life experience into something that others can benefit from will be cathartic and rewarding. Jackie’s choice to speak out about her painful experience is a reminder that nobody, even the very rich, are without sorrow, and that in the end we all need to help each other.
